So Lai Wah (From Hong Kong) Occupation: Civil Servant
I started suffering from asthma when I was five. For the last 45 years, I have been constantly relying on medicine, and frequently in and out of the Emergency Unit of hospitals. As a result of taking asthma drugs and spray inhaler for a long period of time, my bones have become soft and weak, leading to a stooping posture and a bent back even when I was young.
I started practicing Taiji Five Elements Self Recovery Program (TFESRP) under the guidance of WISH President Ms Christina Chiu from 3 October 2001. After persistently practising for 2 hours daily for 30 days, in early November 2001, my upper and lower back had become straightened gradually, and I could shake off the control of asthma drugs over me. As I have gradually recovered from asthma, I have become much more optimistic and positive than before.
After one year’s intensive practice, I was able to enjoy a tour of the snow-clad mountains in Switzerland, which was something that I did not even dare to think of in the past. I was most fortunate to have the opportunity to learn this superb self-healing qi-gong, which has helped me regain my health.
